Ok, I know I normally use this journal as a vent for death, destruction and general melodrama, but right now, life is on the up and up *touches wood*.

My Aunt in bracknell has got me a temp position on her department with the council dealing with schools and exam results etc. It sounds a really interesting job that I wouldn't mind doing permenantly, though I probably won't be allowed to apply for the permenant position because my Aunt is the team leader and we all have an idea on how a lot of places feel about family working together.

Regardless of this minor setback it is also an awesome oppertunity to get into another council elsewhere. It gives me the admin experience I need and at £8 an hour I'm feeling really happy about the income. This will enable me to get into coucil work elsewhere which generally pays fairly well and as far as jobs go tends to be pretty secure, though as with anything, can't be guarunteed.

It does mean I'll be moving to Bracknell while my contract is running, but I'll be moving everything with me (PC included )

Only major drawback is that I'm getting my cousin's old bedroom (She's moved out to take care of her child). Problem is, she's a bit of a chav and unfortunately, the whole bedroom is decorated in barbie pink... I nearly turned the job down on that basis alone, but needs must...

My re-enactment's going well. Am learning a lot of weapon skills and have discovered a love for the two-handed spear. I thought I'd prefer one of the weapon + shield combinations but the two-handed spear is plain awesome. No shield needed, just nible feet, a creative mind and good reflexes. I do like the shield and axe which comes a close second.

I won't be doing any shows this year because I can't afford the kit by the time I'd need to be on display, but this does give me the oppertunity to come along and heckle from the sidelines.

As I said, on the whole, life is on the up and up

Still trying to get myself back into some sort of fitness routine as my last attempt fell flat on its arse and am trying to get into a pattern of doing -some- painting/ writing each night. I think the problem is that at home I'm so used to doing nothing it's become habit. So what I intend to do is start a new habit when I get to my Aunt's. It's gonna be a fresh start in a manner of speaking so I'm going to use it to get into a good routine. I do the same with jobs. Whenever I start a job, I set myself out with good habits that will stick with me while I stay at a job. It's stood me in good stead before so hopefully it'll work here.
